People Magazine & Matthew Mahon

Last week I had the amazing opportunity to work with photographer Matthew Mahon on an assignment for People Magazine. We traveled to San Angelo and Eldorado, Texas to cover the story of the Polygamist compound. Needless to say, it was quite the experience. We initially drove down to do a portrait of a woman who is looking for her sister who is allegedly inside the compound. While photographing her in San Angelo, we learned that the media was being invited inside the community... so of course we made our way south to Eldorado. Helping with this assignment was an eye-opening experience, not just because of the story we covered, but more so it allowed me to get a good view of different ways I can work in photography. It's nice to see there are so many options out there.

Pick up a copy of this week's People Magazine to check out the story we covered. Also, take a moment to view more of Matthew Mahon's work at www.matthewmahon.com. He has a killer website and does amazing photography.

My Day with Jordan

I love doing children's portraits with a twist. A child's face can be the most animated thing in creation, but getting it to happen on cue is a difficult task. Catching a child in a spontaneous moment is when those amazing photographs happen. That's why I spent a day with my little friend Jordan, and decided to document the events that unfolded. Here are a few shots I ended up with... Enjoy!

Jason & Chris

This wedding had so many high points for me as a photographer. The lighting, Umlauf Garden, Chris' dress, and the entire wedding party's fun, outgoing personalities all made my job a breeze. Check out some of my favorite shots from Jason and Chris' wedding!

Brett & Leah

I had the pleasure of photographing Brett and Leah's wedding on March 9th, 2008. They were so much fun and very laid back... amazing clients! They got married at University Catholic Church and had their reception at Barr Mansion. It was a lovely event with a spunky vibe! A lot of fun to photograph...
