Great Makeup!

The past two weddings I photographed were fantastic and the brides were absolutely beautiful. Now, most of this was due to their absolute natural beauty shining through, but they did have an excellent make up artist up their sleeves. Katie Astoria with Modern Muse Makeup Artistry made these brides glow! And, what's even better... the makeup lasted ALL NIGHT! As a photographer, that is something that is so important to me (it definitely makes touch-ups/editing a lot easier!). So, if you are wondering who you should hire to beautify your already fabulous face... look no further! Check out Katie's website at www.modernmusemakeupartistry.com, and tell her I sent you!

People Magazine & Matthew Mahon

Last week I had the amazing opportunity to work with photographer Matthew Mahon on an assignment for People Magazine. We traveled to San Angelo and Eldorado, Texas to cover the story of the Polygamist compound. Needless to say, it was quite the experience. We initially drove down to do a portrait of a woman who is looking for her sister who is allegedly inside the compound. While photographing her in San Angelo, we learned that the media was being invited inside the community... so of course we made our way south to Eldorado. Helping with this assignment was an eye-opening experience, not just because of the story we covered, but more so it allowed me to get a good view of different ways I can work in photography. It's nice to see there are so many options out there.

Pick up a copy of this week's People Magazine to check out the story we covered. Also, take a moment to view more of Matthew Mahon's work at www.matthewmahon.com. He has a killer website and does amazing photography.

My Day with Jordan

I love doing children's portraits with a twist. A child's face can be the most animated thing in creation, but getting it to happen on cue is a difficult task. Catching a child in a spontaneous moment is when those amazing photographs happen. That's why I spent a day with my little friend Jordan, and decided to document the events that unfolded. Here are a few shots I ended up with... Enjoy!
